Location: Excellent The Hyatt Regency Waikiki is located right across the street from the beach in downtown Waikiki and is within walking distance of everything including great restaurants and some high quality shopping. With it's own oceanfront location (overlooking Kalakaua Blvd. and Kuhio State Beach), the view from the oceanfront rooms is breathtaking and is an awesome view to wake up to. The Hyatt Regency Waikiki is right in the very heart of Waikiki Beach and Kuhio is a favorite beach for young people and families. With many stores, restaurants and cultural events within walking distance, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is in an excellent location for a great vacation. The surf spot known as "Queens" is located right in front of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and is an excellent beginner's surf break. If learning how to surf is a part of your visit to Waikiki, then the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is an excellent choice to make. General Information:
Finding the front desk is a little challenging when you first visit the hotel. Once you have settled your transportation, head into the center of the hotel where you see the large waterfalls.
Once you are there, go up the stairs opposite the waterfalls. You will see the registration desk to your right. It is quite easy to miss it and walking around the entire length of the hotel trying to find it is very frustrating and the Hyatt just has not done a good job of posting signs so that folks can find it.
The Hyatt Regency has three floors of shops, galleries, boutiques and restaurants for your enjoyment. Some of the best shops in Waikiki are found in this hotel and it is worth exploring even if you are not staying at the property.
Located on the third floor on the Kalakaua side of the hotel is the swimming pool. Note that there are also two small Jacuzzis for guest's enjoyment. With rooms offered in variety of size, location and view, there are many options when choosing a room at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. On top of the wide selection of rooms, there are some awesome restaurants including the Colony which offers great seafood and steak dishes. On the third floor of the hotel one finds the Elegant Dive, a great bar to watch people and sunsets. There are also many onsite shops that are located throughout the multi level shopping mall that makes up the lower floors of the hotel.
